Help a Bring Christmas Magic to an Ocean County, NJ Family’s Baby in the NICU
Do you have a couple of minutes to help out a family with Ocean County ties this Christmas?
While most families are busy wrapping Christmas gifts, baking cookies, and decorating their homes for the holidays, that's not the case for the Kornse Family.
One of my dearest friends, Nicolette Kornse, formerly of Forked River and Barnegat Township, gave birth to her 3rd son Remy this past July. Unfortunately, it hasn't been an easy ride for Remy or the Kornses.
Shortly after his birth, Remy's lung collapsed, and Nicolette and her husband Brian have spent countless hours in the NICU at their new home in Florida working with medical professionals to figure out a diagnosis for their sweet baby boy. It's been an up and down ride, but two things are for sure - Little Remy is a fighter, and Nicolette is one of the strongest women I've ever known.
This past week, Nicolette got the sad news that Remy would be spending Christmas in the NICU, and needless to say, she's heartbroken. I know she has been dreaming of the moment that her 3 boys will all be together in their home. She's trying to make Remy's first Christmas a very special one for him by collecting Christmas cards to decorate his hospital room with, and that's where we need your help.
Do you have a second to write a Christmas card for Remy? A little note of joy and hope will make such a difference in this sweet child and his incredible family's lives. Nicolette and her sisters grew up listening to WOBM, and it would mean the world if we can give back to her family and show them how incredible the community of Ocean County is. I know we have it in us.
You can mail all Christmas cards to the station:
Rallying for Remy c/o Diana Tyler, WOBM
8 Robbins Street
Toms River, NJ 08753
I will forward them to Nicolette and Remy. You can also keep up with Remy's journey on the Facebook page Rallying for Remy.
Thank you so much in advance for your kindness and Christmas cards.
