I'm so sad to hear the news of one of my favorites at Jenkinson's.

Every time we would visit the Aquarium, she was my favorite. I would sit on those benches and watch their shows and just watch her. She amazed me.

I'm sure if you visited the aquarium a lot like us, or just once, you remember Luseal the Seal. She had two different eyes and she loved when people watched her. I was talking to one of the workers at the aquarium about her years ago. I remember her telling me how much of a lovey she truly is.

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our adored harbor seal, Luseal.
Lucy was a local at heart, stranding in the in Point Pleasant/Bay Head Canal. After being deemed nonreleasable, she became part of the Jenkinson’s Aquarium family in July 1991. Passing at the age of 34, Lucy surpassed the average life expectancy of her wild cousins by over a decade. During this time, she captured the hearts of all.
It is so true, Luseal captured my heart and everyone that met her. Wow, I had no idea she was 34 years old.
I remember this picture like it was yesterday. We were lucky enough to be able to feed Luseal. My daughter Abby and her friend, look how little Abby was. This picture was from 2011. We would visit Luseal at least 4 or 5 times a year.

Kudos to the awesome, caring group of people that took care of Luseal everyday and all the animals at Jenkinson's Aquarium. I'm truly sorry for your loss, I know your hearts are breaking, she was so well taken care of and loved her home at the aquarium.
