Hazlet Police investigating incident at bar that took place during UFC 222
The answers to questions of what happened and why are vague after multiple people were reportedly injured Saturday night at The Park Tap and Grill in Hazlet.
All Hazlet Police have said so far is the incident occurred around 10:00 pm, several people including three police officers were injured and that they're looking for witnesses.
The three officers ended up hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
The time stamp for when police say the incident occurred was just before the 'main card' of UFC 222 was on TV (which included Toms River's Frankie Edgar).
That could be relevant because The Park Tap and Grill had advertised Saturday morning they would be showing the fight that night.
However, it's not known nor reported that the fight on the TV led to the incident police are investigating or whether something else sparked it.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident Saturday night or has information that may be helpful to the investigation is asked to call Hazlet Detectives at 732-264-6565.
