5 Haunted Things in New Jersey That Will Scare You Silly
Summer may still be hanging on, but let’s be honest, Halloween season is creeping closer every single day. And if there’s one thing New Jersey knows how to do right, it’s scaring the living daylights out of you.
From massive haunted houses to twisted mazes, escape rooms, and hayrides that keep you looking over your shoulder, the Garden State is packed with terrifying fun.
Halloween Season is Creeping In
These attractions are so popular, many open at the end of this month to keep up with the demand.
Personally, I’ll take a haunted hayride over a haunted house any day. Something about sitting in the dark on a wagon, waiting for whatever jumps out from the woods, just feels perfectly spooky.
The Scares Keep Getting Bigger Every Year
A haunted house where someone charges at me with a chainsaw? Nope, I’m out. That kind of in-your-face scare gets me every time.
I still remember trying a haunted maze years ago, it wasn’t even a corn maze, just a pitch-black maze of horrors. I couldn’t see a thing, I kept bumping into walls, and by the end of it, I was so freaked out I swore I’d never do it again.

One spot that makes my list every year is C. Casola Farms. Their haunted hayride is the real deal, scary enough to keep you clutching your seat but so much fun you’ll want to go back again and again. And trust me, it gets better every single season.
