Grinch arrested by police in Ship Bottom Sunday morning
Ship Bottom Police have arrested the mean one, Mr. Grinch following numerous complaints accusing him of theft and trespassing at several places within the Ocean County borough.
Reports of a furry, green, male approximately six-feet tall and dressed up like Santa Claus were indeed founded.
Police got to a neighborhood around 4:30 am Sunday and began a chase on foot for the Grinch who was carrying lawn decorations and what appeared to be Christmas lights right behind him.
Mr. Grinch was arrested without incident.
He told police about his plot to steal Christmas had he not been caught.
Mr. Grinch was processed at headquarters and released pending a future court appearance.
"We’d like to remind the public that all grinches are innocent until proven guilty," Ship Bottom Police said on Facebook.
This is not the first time the Grinch has been arrested this month and so he may be facing additional charges in New Jersey.
He had also been a grinch of interest in Sea Girt where it turned out to be a squirrel ruining the light display.
