I always love it when new projects begin at Six Flags Great Adventure. I have watched the park change over the years, and I remember when it first opened here in Ocean County 52 years ago.

Six Flags Great Adventure first opened in 1974 in Jackson as a family-friendly park with a nature theme and even a drive-through safari. A few years later, Six Flags bought it and began adding bigger rides and attractions, slowly turning it into the major thrill park people know today.

Over time, it grew to include famous roller coasters, a water park, and the safari next door, becoming a go-to summer spot for generations of New Jersey families, including my own.
