Central Jersey Group

(1) Freehold Twp. 3, (8) Jackson Memorial 1

Three different Patriots players scored during a span of 2:14 during the second half and Freehold Township came to life in the second half to beat the Jaguars.

Sophomore Hailey Santiago scored in the 56th minute to break a scoreless tie. Fifty-seven seconds later, freshman Gaby Parker scorched the back of the net with extend the Freehold Township lead to 2-0.

Sophomore Cassidy Corcione capped the outburst with a goal in the 58th minute, stretching the Patriots lead to 3-0. Corcione and Parker each assisted a goal as well, as did junior Kayla Wong.

Junior Chloe Messer headed in a service from senior Victoria Pungello in the 67th to get Jackson Memorial on the board.

Freehold Township advances to the sectional semifinals and will host No. 4 Manalapan – the third meeting between the two Shore Conference Class A North rivals this season. Freehold Township won both meetings, first beating the Braves, 5-0, on opening day and later rallying from a 1-0 deficit to win a Shore Conference Tournament semifinal showdown, 2-1.

(4) Manalapan 5, (12) Marlboro 0

Sophomore Vanessa Sarf rolled up a hat trick and the Braves ran away from the Mustangs and into the sectional semifinals Tuesday at No. 1 Freehold Township.

Sarf scored twice in the first half off passes from senior Gabriella Muccio and freshman Savanah DiSabato and added her third in 61st minute off a feed from senior Arianna Kelly.

Senior Cassidy DiSabato opened the scoring in the 13th minute and sophomore Sydney Spilsbury knocked in a pass from senior Lillian Piper a minute after Sarf scored her third goal.

 

Central Jersey Group III

(4) Colts Neck 2, (5) Northern Burlington 0

Senior Jordana Golove scored two second-half goals and the Cougars turned away the Greyhounds to reach the sectional semifinals Tuesday at top-seeded Princeton.

(3) Brick Memorial 4, (6) Steinert 1

Sophomore Chloe Gellici and senior Izzy Hernandez scored within a minute of one another in the first half and Mackenzie Fanning added a pair of goals in the second half to complete a Mustangs win over the Spartans.

Gellici converted a pass from Gabby Hernandez into a goal in the 29th minute and Izzy Hernandez followed that right up with Brick Memorial’s second goal.

Fanning answered a goal by Steinert’s Jasmin Ortega by scoring off a pass from Emily DeAlmeidaa in the 56th minute to make it 3-1. Fanning capped the scoring by finishing off a set-up from Lexi Coville with three seconds left in the game.

Brick Memorial will travel to play No. 2 Hopewell Valley in Tuesday’s sectional semifinal.

(2) Hopewell Valley 1, (10) Red Bank 0

Mea Allex broke through in the second half for the game’s lone goal and the Bulldogs fought off a scare from the Bucs to reach Tuesday’s sectional semifinal against No. 3 Brick Memorial.

 

Central Jersey Group II

(8) Wall 3, (1) Metuchen 1

Senior Carolyn Scenna assisted the first goal of the game by junior Kiersten Brown and completed a three-goal first half for Wall with a goal of her own as the Crimson Knights stormed past the top-seeded Bulldogs and into the sectional semifinals Tuesday at No. 4 Point Boro.

Senior Hannah Grabicki scored off a pass from senior Rory Paris to extend the Wall lead to 2-0 and Scenna made it 3-0 with a goal off a Paris Thorp assist.

(4) Point Boro 1, (12) Delran 0

Junior Anna McCourt scored the game’s lone goal in the first half and the Panthers defense and freshman goalkeeper Ava Bjorndahl came through with a clean sheet to send Point Boro into Tuesday’s sectional semifinal against No. 8 Wall.

(14) Manasquan 5, (11) Delaware Valley 1

Sophomore Bianca Chiarella and senior Ava Chiarella each scored in the first half and Ava Chiarella added another goal in the second half as the Warriors stayed red-hot in routing the Terriers.

Bianca Chiarella put Manasquan ahead, 1-0, off a pass from sophomore Renee Herbert in the 27th minute and Ava Chiarella added a goal before the half off a feed from junior Mary Cate Imman.

Sophomore Kali Saito scored in the 56th minute off a pass from junior Lily Carhart and Ava Chiarella made it 4-0 in the 67th with her second goal.

Herbert capped the scoring in the 78th, with senior Maeve Reilly picking up the assist.

Manasquan will tackle No. 2 Holmdel in the sectional semifinal on Tuesday, hoping to extend its surprise run with its biggest upset yet.

(2) Holmdel 4, (7) Rumson-Fair Haven 1

Senior Taylor Bielan answered an early goal by Rumson senior Katie Aglione, then assisted the go-ahead goal by senior Julianna Kolbasovsky in the 46th minute to help spark the Hornets to an impressive quarterfinal win over the rival Bulldogs.

Aglione volleyed home a shot off a pass from junior Janey Sypeck in the eighth minute, which was preceded by a near goal by Aglione in the first minute that Holmdel senior goalkeeper Katrina Walier saved.

Just 36 seconds after Rumson grabbed the lead, Bielan erased it by running down the ball on a breakaway and finishing the chance to equalize.

Holmdel took over for good in the second half, with Bielan again running down the ball in space and this time, cross it to the near left post for a one-timed finish by Kolbasovsky.

Senior Katie Vassilakos scored the third Holmdel goal, running down a well-paced through-ball from freshman Lily Reardon and finishing with power inside the near right post in the 52nd minute.

Kolbasovsky capped the scoring in the 60th minute with her second goal, a second-chance finish off a corner kick by Reardon.

 

Central Jersey Group I

(4) Point Beach 5, (5) Middlesex 0

Freshman Izzy Kurzon scored two of Point Beach’s three goals in the first 15 minutes and the Garnet Gulls coasted past the Blue Jays and into the sectional semifinal Tuesday against top-seeded Palmyra.

Senior Elisa Crivelli scored four minutes into the match off a pass from junior Naima Shortridge and Kurzon followed with a goal a minute later off a pass from junior Kami Turnbach.

Freshman Gabby Kirchner set up Kurzon’s second goal in the 14th minute, then Kurzon returned the favor when Kirchner scored a minute before halftime.

Turnbach capped the scoring off a pass from sophomore Audrey Akersten in the 65th minute.

(2) Shore 10, (10) South Hunterdon 1

Senior Rori McDonough scored a goal and assisted another as nine different players scored a goal for the Blue Devils in a rout of the Eagles. Shore will host No. 3 Maple Shade in Tuesday’s sectional semifinals.

 

South Jersey Group IV

(9) Central at (1) Toms River North

Sophomore Alexis Garcia scored two goals and junior Madison DiEugenio added a goal and an assist to lead the Mariners to a win over the Class A South rival Golden Eagles.

Toms River North – which will host No. 4 Kingsway in the sectional semifinals on Tuesday – did all of its scoring in the first half, with seniors Faith Wavershak and Jaime Girtain each chipping in an assist.

 

South Jersey Group III

(3) Lacey 2, (6) Triton 1

Freshmen Natalie McGovern and Mackenzie Brotherston each scored in the first half and the Lions held off the Mustangs to advance to the sectional semifinals Tuesday at No. 2 Clearview.

McGovern scored off a set-up by sophomore Marley Besser in the ninth minute and Brotherston scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 21st.

 

South Jersey Non-Public A

(1) Red Bank Catholic 3, (9) Princeton Day 1

Junior Gianna Romeo scored two goals within a three-minute stretch of the first half and junior Noel Pauwels added a second-half score for insurance as the Caseys fended off a challenge from Princeton Day.

Romeo scored off a pass from sophomore Mia Gonzalez in the 21st and again off a feed from senior Morgan Cupo in the 24th to get Red Bank Catholic off to a 2-0 start. Pauwels’s goal capped the scoring in the 53rd.

(4) Donovan Catholic 2, (5) Princeton Day 1

Junior Payton Meara scored the golden goal off a pass from junior Zoey Bates in the fifth minute of overtime and the Griffins pulled out a win over the Spartans to reach the sectional semifinals Tuesday at top-seeded Red Bank Catholic.

Ava Glawson scored five minutes into the game off a pass from Olivia Conroy, but Immaculata came back with a goal by Isabelle Bariso two minutes later to level the match, which remained tied for the next 78 minutes before Meara’s extra-time heroics.

(3) St. John Vianney 5, (11) Our Lady of Mercy 0

Senior Ally Ouano and freshman Milani Thompson each scored two goals and the Lancers handled Our Lady of Mercy to reach Tuesday’s sectional semifinal against No. 10 Trinity Hall.

Cate O’Grady scored the other goal and Sophia Gambale contributed two assists for St. John Vianney.

(10) Trinty Hall 1, (2) Notre Dame 0

Junior Alexandra Popham scored off a pass from teammate Jill DeSio in the first half and the Tigers made it stand up in an upset win over the Irish.

Junior goalkeeper Olivia Fazzolari earned the shutout with 10 saves.

 

South Jersey Non-Public B

(3) St. Rose 6, (6) Wildwood Catholic 0

Junior Adriana Dalia recorded a hat trick as part of a five-goal second half that propelled the Purple Roses past the Crusaders and into the sectional semifinals at No. 2 Rutgers Prep.

Junior Julia Whesper scored the lone first-half goal for St. Rose and also assisted two of the goals in the second half. Sophomores Mackenzie Nerenberg and Kate O’Leary each added a goal in the win and freshman Ava Gialanella contributed three assists for St. Rose.
