There are those special businesses at the Shore that we hold near and dear to our hearts.

One of those businesses just made an announcement that left many heartbroken.

Gee Gee's pizzeria was founded in 1987 as a family-owned and operated business. It's remained that way ever since.

Run by Manasquan locals, the business is in the process of transferring hands to the second generation.

Gee Gee's has always prided itself on being the place where local kids find their first job and a forever family.

It is not only like a second home for those who have worked within its walls, but also those who return each summer as locals and friends.

Over the past few summers, Gee Gee's has revamped its menus.

The pizza had always been the staple, but now more gourmet options were offered at the deli in addition to the classics.

Gee Gee's Ice Cream Shoppe is awesome as it's the perfect way to put the finishing touches on a meal.

It's also a great detor after strolling Manasquan. The giant chipwhiches are epic.

If you're a Manasquan local, you absolutely attended many birthday parties at Gee Gee's.

Vistors of the Shore and locals alike we're shocked to see this message on the official Gee Gee's Facebook page.

The responses were heartfelt and touching.

I understand and am happy for all of you…but I’m so sad. Sunday morning with no breakfast pizza??? Nothing beats a plain slice right out of the oven….I wish you all much happiness. Family first!!!Thank you for everything! The late-night pizza after closing time all the way to my kids’ birthday parties and anything else in between. Such a staple in our lives.
Another part of our wonderful Manasquan childhoods fades into the mists of time. All the best to the Bryant’s and for all the hard work to make such a great landmark on the beach with wonderful food. We enjoyed breakfast on the beach many mornings and your pizza is awesome! We wish you all the best!

Is Gee Gee's Pizza in Manasquan closed?

I am waiting for an answer on that. The post says that the Bryant Family will no longer be operating Gee Gee's Pizza. Instead, they would focus on the deli and ice cream shop.

There was no mention of a closing. Maybe I'm just holding out hope. Even if Gee Gee's Pizza does make a return this summer, it just won't be the same.

Thanks to the Bryant's for making Manasquan memories. They have done so much for the community and I thank them.
Let's hope these other Shore favorites are around for a long time!
