Four residents from Newark have been arrested and charged for their alleged roles in dealing cocaine and heroin across Ocean County.

Karl Murray, 34, was using a residence in Newark to store and distribute the heroin and cocaine in Ocean County.

It was on January 21, 2022 that Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said that the OCPO Narcotics Strike Force Detectives as well as those from Manchester Police and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit set up surveillance on Murray's residence and as soon as he left and drove off, they followed.

When police pulled over his vehicle, Murray along with passengers, 24-year old Tayiyah Jackson and 22-year old Abdul Crowley -- all from Newark -- were detained.

Murray had about 100 wax folds of heroin and $2,800 in U.S. currency in his possession which was before detectives found about 50 vials of crack-cocaine in the vehicle.

Everyone was arrested and brought to Manchester Police headquarters for processing.

Meanwhile, detectives still watching Murray's house arrested 35-year old John Frazier after he went into and then later out of the house while proceeding to put two boxes in the trunk of his own vehicle.

When he was pulled over, police found him in possession of about 150 wax folds of heroin -- from the boxes he put in the trunk.

As for the boxes he put in the car -- about 4,250 wax folds of heroin.

Police also found a .40 caliber handgun in the vehicle.

Frazier was brought to Manchester PD as well after his arrest.

When detectives got a court authorized search warrant to look at Murray's vehicle and home, they also found several items inside that made it known there were drug deals going on.
