MANCHESTER – Six different fire departments responded to a structure fire in Manchester on 3 Kingfisher Way in the Pine Ridge section of Manchester Township Friday evening.

The initial officers that responded to the scene described that the residence was “fully involved” and flames were protruding from the roof. The residence was not occupied at the time. For the safety of people living the neighborhood, authorities evacuated surrounding residences.

Firefighters from Manchester, Whiting, Ridgeway, Lakehurst Borough, as well as the Joint Base Fire Department responded to the residence to aide in putting out the inferno.

Shortly after the fire was extinguished, authorities learned that there were five dogs inside of the home while it was burning. All five dogs perished in the fire - they were later removed by Manchester Animal Control.

The homeowner was treated by EMT’s for a burn to her hand as well as another person for minor smoke inhalation. Both were transported to the Community Medical Center for further evaluation.

According to the Manchester Township Building Inspector, the home is deemed uninhabitable and the homeowner was relocated with her family.
