Fire quickly extinguished at home in Ocean Acres community

Stafford Police and Fire crews were on the scene outside of a home Sextant Road in the Ocean Acres community around 1:00 pm today for a structure fire that is now under investigation.

When police and fire crews arrived, the occupant of the residence had evacuated and there are no injuries being reported.

The fire was located in the rear, exterior of the residence and was quickly extinguished.

The area of Neptune Drive and Sextant Road was briefly closed, but has since reopened.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Stafford Township Bureau of Fire Prevention and does not appear to be suspicious in nature.

The Stafford Township Fire Company was assisted by the Barnegat Township, Forked River and Parkertown Fire Companies in extinguishing the flames.
