The Washington Post reports that so far agents have not found evidence to back the claims Menendez used the services of underage prostitutes or that Melgen, a close friend of the Democrat, provided them as reported by the political website Daily Caller.

The team of agents is also looking into Menendez's support for a port security contract in the Dominican Republic with a company in which Melgen is an investor.

An unnamed Menendez staffer told the  Washington Post that the Senator's office "welcomes any review" and believes his actions have been appropriate. “The senator has had a long history of advocating for increased port security across the world,” the aided said.
