Fantastic Family Fun New Jersey’s Great Pumpkin Train
If you are looking for a fun Autumn / Halloween event, then you might wanna take a ride on the Great Pumpkin Train with Delaware River Railroad Excursions.
The Great Pumpkin Train ride is a fun family activity and autumn April & I took a ride to Warren County for the train which is based in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. Phillipsburg is about a 2-hour ride from Ocean County.

Now Phillipsburg itself reminds me of “old” New Jersey, with a 1950’s feel with the architecture, bridges, and downtown area. Phillipsburg is located right on the Delaware River, so if you make a wrong turn you end up in Pennsylvania lol
This is a great family day trip and kids love seeing the pumpkins and running through the corn maze. If you love trains or have never been on a train...you will love this experience and it's perfect for halloween.
While at the train you can pan for gold in an old-fashioned mine. This was fun and you get to take some of the gemstones you find home with you. You can also try your luck in the various corn mazes that are set up, we did give it try and managed to find our way out, but it's good exercise and kids love running through the corn...and they'll sleep well that night lol
