Toms River Police locate the family members of a Pedestrian accident victim. Police say the victims family members were located in Lakewood Wednesday after a Traffic Safety Officer developed leads by making inquiries to Ocean County Government Agencies.

They say they found that the victim, identified by a California driver's license as 22-year-old Cristoval Mallorga of Los Angeles, had used a county service years ago. The information led Police to a Lakewood address who knew family members of the victim.

Toms River Police had also worked with the Los Angeles Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff's Office who sent Spanish speaking officers to the accident scene to ask the Hispanic Community for assistance.

The accident occurred Tuesday at around 4:40 p.m. near the Intersection of Hooper Avenue and Chestnut Street. The victim remains in critical condition at the Jersey Shore Medical Center with severe head and leg injuries.

No charges have been filed against the motorist, identified as a Brick Township resident who was heading to work on south bound Hooper Avenue when the pedestrian attempted to cross the roadway.
