In a Trenton federal courtroom today, James Paroline, 28, was also required to serve 10 years of parole supervision, according to information from Acting New Jersey U.S. Attorney William E. Fitzpatrick's office.

Paroline pleaded guilty to the first count of an indictment, which charged him with receiving child pornography.

Authorities disclosed neither the school, nor the private camp, that employed Paroline. The Asbury Park Press learned that he worked as a counselor in a summer camp operated by Ranney School of Tinton Falls.

Information related to the case revealed that between February 26 and March 2, 2015, Paroline downloaded multiple degrading images from PlayPen, a web site and message board specializing in advertising and distributing child pornography.

Investigators said that he registered as "jimbobtropolis" and used his personal e-mail address.

The probe involved agents of the FBI's Newark office, Red Bank and Middletown police, and investigators of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Brendan Day conducted the government's case. Paroline was represented by attorney Darren Gelber of Woodbridge.
