Monmouth-Ocean 9/11 Memorials
Today we remember and honor the lives lost in the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.
Monmouth County
Atlantic Highlands: From NJ Mom, "Families are welcome to visit the 9/11 memorial at Mount Mitchill in Atlantic Highlands to honor the 147 people from the county who died on 9/11. The memorial features a timeline walkway to recollect the day’s events, a stone base carved with the names, ages, and hometowns of the county residents who lost their lives, and an eagle sculpture with a beam from one of the fallen towers."

"Freehold Borough will hold its commemoration ceremony at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday. All are welcome to attend. The ceremony will take place at the Freehold Borough Fire House located at 49 W. Main Street, Freehold."
"Red Bank will commemorate those lost in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony will take place at Riverside Gardens Park."
"While there will be no formal commemoration ceremony in Holmdel this year, roses and candles will be available all day to be placed on the Town Hall memorial in memory of those lost."
"Join Manalapan Township on Wednesday for a candlelight ceremony to remember the lives lost in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. at the Manalapan Township 9/11 Memorial."
"Marlboro Township will hold its Patriot Day Ceremony at the Marlboro 9/11 Memorial on Wednesday. The ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. and is scheduled to end by 9:15 a.m."
"Shrewsbury Borough will host its 9/11 commemoration ceremony on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The ceremony will take place in Shrewsbury Borough Hall "
Additionally,
In Belmar there will be several events. 9 am Ceremony at the Belmar Housing Authority, at 6 pm the Jersey Shore Running Club hosts its 9/11 Memorial Run, 16th Avenue Boardwalk and at 8:30 pm Belmar’s Tribute in Light, Howard Rowland Public Safety Pavilion, 1002 Ocean Avenue North.
In Colts Neck, There will be a memorial at Town Hall located at Veterans Way, Colts Neck. The memorial begin tonight at 6 pm.
In Middletown, Memorial at the Middletown World Trade Center Memorial Gardens at 7 pm
Ocean County
The Ocean County Board of Commissioners will host its annual Day of Remembrance ceremony on Wednesday. The ceremony today will take place at the Sept. 11th Memorial in the courtyard of the county's offices at 119 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. It begins at 8:30 a.m.
Seaside Park: Memorial this morning at 9:30 am at the J Street Marina
Seaside Heights: Franklin Avenue Stage at 10 am today.
Barnegat Township: The Township Committee will host a ceremony at Town Hall at 9 am.
Stafford Township:Beach Avenue Park a ceremony at 6 pm.
Brick Township: There will be a memorial ceremony at 6 pm at at the “Angel in Anguish” sculpture near the entrance to the beach at Windward Beach Park.
