An Eatontown woman needed to be extricated from her vehicle after drifting off of Route 18 north near Tennent Road in Marlboro on Monday night.

The 21-year old struck the bridge abutment for Tennent Road in her 2011 Jeep Wrangler before coming to rest on the vehicles side.

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency personnel.

The driver was flown to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital via medical helicopter with serious injuries.

Her identity is being withheld at this time pending notifications.
