Does New Jersey Love Fruitcake At Christmas Time? [Opinion]
Is There a Good Fruitcake?
I think the term applies perfectly when it comes to the Christmas tradition of fruitcake, it's a love/hate affair and folks are either on one side of the cake or the other. It appears from our very unscientific survey that there are more "haters" when it comes to the fruity confection for the holidays. Let's take a look at what you had to say about the iconic fruitcake!
Danielle: No Such Thing lol It's Gross
Beverly: Ye Olde English Fruitcake. Shop Rite Gets Them In December But They Sell Out Fast
Al: Collin Street Bakery in Texas
John: In The Asylum Where They Filmed One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest
Kathy: First Time I've Heard That!
Jack: Is There Such A Thing As A Good Fruitcake??
Bob: Congress
Andria: The Third Floor Is Full Of Them
Patricia: Love Fruitcake
Rick: Look In The Mirror LOL
Louise: In The Trash Can lol
Roseanne: At Mara Lago, A Huge Selection
Leon: At His Inauguration In January
Sean: The White House
Ellen: In The Trash! LOL
Andy: Check The Anchor Chairs At WOBM lol
Pamela: In The Trash
Patricia: QVC..YeOld
Ellen: I Have An Excellent Recipe
Roberto: In The White House
So as we can see there isn't a ton of positive feedback when it comes to the infamous fruitcake. Of the feedback, two or three places were mentioned to get a good fruitcake. Shop Rite, QVC, and online at Cullin Street Bakery.
For me I like to toast the fruitcake and butter it, I like it that way. Try it and see if you don't like it too. Toast and butter your slice and it'll make your Christmas snack list. We had a listener call and his wife makes fruitcake french toast, now that's a new one and maybe it's great I will have to try that.
