My practical nature has always butted heads with my love of beautiful things.  Knowing how quickly fashion trends come and go, I don't usually buy anything trendy.  I figure it doesn't make sense to spend good money on something that will look outdated in 6 months.

But I'll also admit I fell into a bit of a rut over the years.  I dressed so much for comfort that I looked a bit too relaxed.  Middle age now has me on a mission to "Fight the Frump!" That means that I shop for clothes that look good, suit my body type, feel good, and don't make me look older than I am.

So during New York Fashion Week, I've seen a bunch of articles and photos showing what's in and what's out.  I may incorporate one or two of the trends into my look, without spending a fortune.  (We'll soon be seeing lots of fringe and also blazer dresses according to what was just on the runway.)

Do you pay attention to what's en vogue?  Where do you get your fashion inspiration? Is it from magazines?  From photos of celebs on the red carpet?  From e-mails sent by the stores you patronize?  Or do you just buy what catches your eye at the store?
