If you survived Superstorm Sandy and haven't registered for recovery assistance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency - the time is now.

The deadline of March 1 is steadfastly approaching, leaving just two weeks for survivors to apply for potential recovery assistance. The deadline also applies to the U.S. Small Business Administration's low-interest disaster loan application, which is the best way for small businesses to gain access to federal funds for long-term rebuilding.

The hard deadline is is Friday, March 1 at 10 p.m. local time by phone and at midnight for those who register online.

To date, about $360 million in grants and another $446 million in SBA low-interest disaster loans has been approved.
