
Daylight Saving Time in New Jersey: When Do We Turn the Clocks Back in 2025?
It’s hard to believe that thousands of New Jersey kids are getting ready for back to school in about a month. One more month of summer fun and summertime light.
As summer ends, Daylight Saving ends, to. No more light late nights, are we ready for it to get dark at 4:00 in the afternoon. No, I'm not. When does Daylight Saving time happen in 2025? I'll spell it out for you.
Why We’ll Miss Those Long Summer Nights
In New Jersey we'll say goodbye to later sunsets as fall roles in. We've had some late sunsets that always make me feel so good. After these later sunsets, we’ll lose about three minutes of sunlight per day leading up to the end of Daylight Saving time and “fall back” an hour.
When Does Daylight Saving Time End in New Jersey?
Daylight Saving ends November 2nd, 2025. We will "fall back" one hour with our clocks.
Once we "fall back", adjusting the clocks in your car, kitchen and bedroom, again so soon. Maybe it will take you a while to change them. When you finally do go to change them, you’ll probably wonder like I do, when can we stop doing this ridiculous thing?
Will Daylight Saving Time Ever Go Away?
We've heard for several years about discontinuing Daylight Saving time and personally I would love that.
What to Expect After the Clocks Change
Sunset will typically take place in New Jersey at 4:50 pm and 4:55 pm, as we "fall back" But, this does mean earlier sunrises.

So while we trade in those golden summer nights for brisk, early evenings, there’s still something cozy about the change. It might take a few days (or weeks) to adjust, mentally, emotionally, and definitely with the clocks, but we always handle it like we do in the Garden State.
