CLARK — State and local police are looking for a man who dodged capture twice this month.

According to the State Police, the first instance happened on April 7 when troopers tried to stop a silver Ford Focus on Interstate 78 for a traffic violation. The driver refused to stop and took to the Turnpike, where he got off at Exit 9. The troopers stopped the pursuit but were able to track the license plate Y64GNE to a stolen car out of Perth Amboy.

On April 12, the Clark police department was investigating a shoplifting incident when they saw the same car and unsuccessfully attempted to stop the driver. The second pursuit came to an end when the driver left the local roads for the Garden State Parkway.

The State Police said they are concerned the man "may pose a greater risk to the community by resorting to more dangerous crimes."

They are encouraging anyone with information to contact Trooper Brian McNally of the Somerville Station at 908-725-0107 or email him at lpp7664@gw.njsp.org. Information can also be sent to Detective Sgt. Mamarou of the Clark Police Department at 732-388-3434.
