Jersey’s Own Cake Boss Suddenly Closes Their Only Shore Location
In 2013, reality TV baker and Jersey guy through and through Buddy Valastro brought his booming "Cake Boss" brand to trendy Red Bank with a local outlet of Carlo's Bakery.
As of today, the fanfare of 5 years ago was replaced by a locked door, a subtle note in the window, and no official announcement aside from the aforementioned note that the Broad Street bakery was ending operations.
Local news site RedBankGreen.com posted a story this morning that the bakery, "didn’t open for business as usual Tuesday, though workers could be seen inside. By early Wednesday, a small sign had appeared on the front door saying the shop was closing."
The story goes on to say that just this past spring a local investor came into the business and publicly quashed rumors of the sweet shop's impending closure.
The bake shop's website seems to have hastily removed the Red Bank bakery from their list of locations and replaced it with a generic table and chairs image.
If you still have a hankering for the treats from TV's "Cake Boss", there are 9 more locations, including the Hoboken original, in the tri-state area.
