
Brick woman dies after crossing into oncoming traffic on Route 70, police say
Brick Police announced that they are continuing to investigate a pedestrian accident on Route 70 Monday that claimed the life of a township resident.

Witnesses told officers that the pedestrian ran out into traffic on Route 70 Monday night and was hit near Olden Street heading towards the Brick Motor Inn Motel around 7:00 pm.
Police said she was walking against the pedestrian crossing signal and was not in the marked crosswalk when she was hit by a 2020 White Mercedes which did come to a complete stop but the pedestrian did not survive the impact.
The Brick Police Traffic Safety Unit were joined on scene by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit and the NJ Department of Transportation.
