Brick Police seek witnesses of fatal car-motorcycle accident
Brick Police are asking that if you heard or saw what happened with a Saturday afternoon car accident around 3:30 pm between Brick and Beaverson Boulevard's, to give them a call.
The driver of a motorcycle, Ronald Tucci, 70, Brick, was changing lanes along Brick Boulevard to the left to pass a vehicle in front of him, police said, when the driver of a Honda Accord, Daina Massarelli, 30, East Hanover was changing lanes to the right lanes.
As they both turned at the same time, Tucci tried braking to avoid a collision but hit the back of the Honda Accord and was thrown from his motorcycle.
Brick Police’s Patrol Units and Emergency Medical Services along with Robert Wood Johnson Paramedics responded to the scene.
Tucci, who suffered lower body and internal injuries, was treated at the scene and transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
Massarelli and he passenger, Jeanne Massarelli, 63, Brick, were uninjured in the crash.
The car accident is being investigated by Ptl. Jay Lampiasi and Ptl. Thergesen of the Brick Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has information pertaining to the crash is asked to contact Ptl. Lampiasi at (732) 262-1141.
