At a commission review hearing yesterday Chief James Riccio, along with Lt. Steven Gerling, and Sergeant Michael Drew appeared in front of the panel of commissioners to receive the re-accreditation.

"Proud of the men and women of the Brick Township Police Department for once again achieving this level of recognition. Chief Riccio said in a press release, "The re-accreditation for our department validates that we continue to be in line with the highest standards in law enforcement."

Accredited status shows a professional achievement of great significance, demonstrating policies and procedures are implemented and effective operationally.

They were initially accredited September 2012 but took part in the on-site assessment to complete a review of policies, procedures and department operations this past October.
