Brick Police find resident with over $21-Grand worth of drugs
An investigation into the possession and dealing of drugs including heroin, Brick Police arrest a township resident after they found more than 1,000 doses of heroin worth over $21,000.00.
Members of the Brick Township Police Drug Enforcement Unit, executed a Court authorized search warrant at a residence on the 500 block of Laurel Brook Drive on Thursday, October 25.
The Honorable Joseph Grisanti authorized the search warrant upon probable cause after a lengthy investigation into the possession, use and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, specifically Heroin.
The knock and announce search warrant was executed without incident at the residence of 53-year old Lisa Sorice who was home at the time.
A search by police found 1,050 individual doses of Heroin (15.75 grams) with several different branding stamps and packaging material, consistent with the drug distribution.
Seized pending forfeiture was $21,675.00 in U.S. currency.
Sorice was arrested, processed and charged with 2nd degree possession with the Intent to distribute Heroin, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and lodged in the Ocean County Jail pending an initial Court appearance.
Donna Brown arrived at the residence during the search warrant execution and was found to have numerous outstanding warrants.
She was also taken into custody and processed for the warrants.
"We encourage our residents to contact their local police department when they observe suspicious or suspected drug activity," Brick Police said on Facebook. "These tips are an important step in initiating or developing a case against suspects involved in the possession, use and distribution of illegal substances."
