Brick man seriously injured after crashing into utility pole
A Brick man is being treated for serious injuries after his car caught fire when he crashed into a utility pole along Cedar Bridge Avenue on Saturday night around 11:15 pm.

Brick Police said that 18-year old Kyle Mueller was heading west on Cedar Bridge Avenue when he drove onto the shoulder as he passed the parkway entrance and veered across the road, over the center line and then into the guardrail on the eastbound side.
From there, he kept going on top the guardrail and struck the utility pole causing to snap and fall on top of his 2003 Mazda Tribute causing it to then catch fire trapping Mueller inside the car.
An off duty Lakewood Police Officer, who happened to be passing by at the time, rescued Mueller from the vehicle and applied first aid until Brick Police and first responders arrive on the scene.
Brenton Woods Fire Company (Station 21), Pioneer Fire Company (Station 22), and Lakewood Fire Department Engine 5 made sure the scene was safe until Jersey Central Power and Light arrived on location to de-energize the down power lines so they could put the fire out.
Mueller was transported to Jersey Shore University Hospital by Brick Police EMS and Paramedics from Hackensack Meridian Hospital.
Jersey Central Power and Light remained on location to repair the damaged wires and replace the broken utility pole.
Anyone who may have witnessed or has information regarding the crash is asked to contact Brick Police Patrolman David Thergesen at (732) 451-2037.
