Port Authority police told NJ Advance Media Bryk's body was found near Pier 40 in Manhattan on May 12, three weeks after her April 23rd leap from the George Washington Bridge.

Although Bryk's parents have said Rachel was bullied about being transgender, they reportedly believe chronic pain caused by fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis led to her decision to commit suicide.

Bryk was diagnosed six years ago with the neurological diseases and struggled to get out of bed each day, according to NJ Advance Media.

Bryk's was reported missing after failing to return home from a doctor's appointment her family thought she had in Manhattan. Bryk's mother drove her to the train station the day she jumped from the bridge.

Roger Bryk, Rachel's father, told the Asbury Park Press his daughter will be cremated. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, 5 to 8 p.m. at Orender Funeral Home in Manasquan.
