LONG BRANCH -- The Monmouth Beach Police Department has confirmed the closure of the Patten Avenue Bridge due to a boat fire underneath the bridge.

It is unclear at the moment how the boat fire started, if there are any injuries or if the bridge itself is damaged.

Authorities are asking all motorists to avoid the area.
