A Favorite On Long Beach Island Gets Ready To Return For Summer

When I was growing up it was known as the "Ketch". A two-story dance club that was a popular hot spot in Beach Haven, Long Beach Island. We would trek down to the far end of the island and show off our dance skills. Usually, that was a bad experiment because as you may imagine we had no real skills lol but there were some interesting memories at the Ketch. Now before it was the Ketch during the 80s and it was originally the "Acme Bar". I do not remember when it was the Acme Bar that was before my time lol.

Today the popular Long Beach Island spot is "Bird & Betty's". A combination of casual dining and "live" music venue and it's a popular spot in Southern Ocean County. The good news is that Bird & Betty's will re-open for summer this Thursday, May 2nd.

This Thursday Bird and Betty's will open (3 pm) with "Todd and Jannah" performing. Bird and Betty's is located at 529 Dock Road, Beach Haven, NJ 08008-1834.

What Are the Signature Drinks From Every State?

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
