Bicyclist seriously injured after being hit by a car in Stafford
A bicyclist is under observational status at Atlantic City Trauma after being hit by a car Saturday morning on Route 72 near Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Stafford Police were dispatched around 9:41 and upon responding to the scene observed a 2016 Mazda CX5 with significant damage.
Officers learned that the Mazda, driven by Sarah Gleeson, 35, of Collingswood, NJ was traveling in the right lane when a bicyclist entered her lane of travel.
The bicyclist cut through stopped vehicles on two lanes of Route 72 before entering the travel path of Gleeson, resulting in the bicyclist contacting the vehicle and windshield before landing on the asphalt.
The man on the bike sustained a head injury and was flown to Atlantic City Trauma for treatment where he is currently listed in observational status.
Identification of the bicyclist is not included at this time pending notification to family members.
