If the sweet lineup doesn't offer some kind of cheesecake, I'm sorry, it's not legit.

Cheesecake should be a dessert option at every restaurant.

You have your apple crisp with vanilla ice cream, and molten chocolate lave cake. Two of my faves.

Tiramisu is a classic as well.

Eat This Not That is known for checking out each state and identifying certain restaurants for being "the best" in a certain area.

This go around they were seeking out the best dessert menu across the country.

Before we get to New Jersey, let's take a look at our neighbors to the north and west.

First, we travel to New York.

Serendipity3 in New York City is well known for its frozen hot chocolate.

It's rare to see a menu with nearly as many desserts listed as main courses. But Serendipity3 delivers. The restaurant even has a Guinness Book of World Records section that includes a $100 milkshake with edible gold.

Over in Pennsylvania:

The Left Bank Restaurant and Bar in York, PA makes its own candy bar.

It's made with a brownie, peanut butter mousse, caramel, chocolate sorbet, and caramel popcorn. Salty and sweet.

Now, on to New Jersey. If you think the best dessert menu in The Garden State is coming from some fancy restaurant, think again.

Check out that massive lemon meringue pie.

Have you ever been to Blue Swan Diner in Oakhurst?

When it comes to desserts, they go beyond the spinning display of cakes and pies.

If you're into milkshakes, some of the best you'll ever taste are at Blue Swan.

Diners have some of the very best dessert menus, and Blue Swan Diner is no exception. In addition to cakes, pies, and nut rolls, the diner serves Never on Sundae, which is vanilla ice cream topped with sticky, flaky baklava, plus chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, butterscotch, and a walnut topping.

It's only fitting that a Jersey diner gets this accolade. Who's craving something sweet all of a sudden?
