According to reports, an Ocean County woman was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday morning on Route 9 in Berkeley Township.

According to Patch, the woman's injuries were severe enough to warrant having her airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for further treatment.
"The woman had walked into traffic near 170 Route 9 and was hit by a vehicle at about 9:30 a.m., police said. After she was struck, she was pushed back into the road's shoulder, police said."

Officials checked the driver of the vehicle and found that no further medical treatment was needed.
Police continue their investigation into the accident.
