Finally, we are hearing something.

For so many years driving Rt. 9 in Pine Beach, Berkeley Township, the old plaza across from Dunkin' has been awful to look at and now it's just an empty piece of land behind a giant fence.

We just might start seeing things being built on this land. So many of you have opinions about what should go there and the horrible traffic that is already through that area on Rt. 9 at any given time of the day.

It's very true, whatever moves into this abandoned area, the traffic will most likely get worse.

Thanks to the patch.com, remember these are what were accepted.

*Three fast-food restaurants with drive-throughs (It seems we now know the 3)

*A 135,000 square foot retail space

*A 44,124 square foot retail space

*A 83,000 square foot supermarket space

*A 7,200 square foot area for a restaurant

*A 4,500 square foot carwash

WE FINALLY KNOW WHAT MIGHT BE MOVING IN!

According to patch.com, here's what's PROPOSED:

*Taco Bell with drive-thru

*Bojangles with drive-thru

*Burger King with drive-thru

*7 Brew Coffee Shop with drive-thru

*Two additional unnamed drive-thru fast food restaurants

*Sparks Car Wash

Can't we have a nice family, sit-down restaurant. That's a lot of fast-food choices.

According to patch.com, the Berkeley Shopping Center Urban Renewal, LLC, property owner, has filed an application with the township planning board with these proposals for the Berkeley Shopping Center on Rt. 9 in Pine Beach / Beachwood. CLICK HERE for more information.

So many listeners were hoping for a park of some sort or maybe even a dog park, in the back of it but I'm not sure. It seems like there will be lots of room for retail space and a larger grocery store.
