Brady Taylor, 41, of Beachwood, and Kasey Burket, 39, of Manahawkin, are accused of having crack cocaine and drug-related items in their car during the arrest at a 7-11 on Deal Road.

According to police, Detective Michael Legg monitored activity that he considered suspicious at about 1:23 PM, and approached the car in which they sat. Both were arrested when Legg found the drugs, police said.

Burket was placed in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold, on an active warrant issued in New York State, and on counts of possession of crack cocaine, a hypodermic syringe, and drug paraphernalia, wandering for the purpose of obtaining drugs, and providing false information to avoid arrest.

Taylor was released to await court proceedings on charges of possession of crack cocaine, a hypodermic syringe and drug paraphernalia, and wandering for the purpose of obtaining drugs.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
