One of the most popular subs/hoagies is the cheesesteak. Nothing like a really good cheesesteak with fried mushrooms, peppers, onions, and just a little mayo. (That's the way I order my cheesesteak.)

It’s widely believed that Pat Olivieri, a hot dog vendor in Philadelphia, created the first version (early 1030s) by grilling some beef and putting it on an Italian roll. A cab driver smelled it, asked for one, and liked it so much that it became popular quickly. Cheese wasn’t added until later, reportedly in the 1940s, with Cheez Whiz, provolone, or American cheese becoming the standard options.

Philadelphia's Best and Most Beloved Cheesesteak Is Coming To New Jersey

According to The Digest Online (New Jersey Digest) Philadelphia's best cheesesteak is making its way across the Delaware and into the Garden State. "Angelo’s Pizzeria of South Philadelphia is known for two things: pizza and hoagies. Many Philly food connoisseurs consider Angelo’s to be home to both the city’s best pizza and best cheesesteak. Angelo’s announced on Instagram that it will open in West Collingswood Heights, NJ, just over the border in the Garden State."

So if you love a good cheesesteak, then get set to head to Angelo's new location in Camden County. I think I will have an order of fries (well done) on the side.

Angelo's added, “We bought DiNic’s property in Mt. Ephraim… It will be an Angelo’s Pizzeria with a full menu,” they wrote, adding that the new location will serve pizzas, cheesesteaks, cutlets, meatballs, hoagies, salads, and include dine-in seating." (something the flagship does not offer).
