I sort of feel like many are living their lives these days like they are walking on a frozen pond in the winter. Yes the ice is frozen and pretty thick in some spots but there are others that you’re afraid will crack if you step on them.  Such is life in the COVID world we live in.

As spring turned to summer and more and more of us got the vaccine life clearly started to resemble what it was like before we had ever heard of COVID-19.  In other words the majority of us were going about our business just like we had prior to March of 2020 when the pandemic began claiming victims and changed everything about everyday life.  Of course there are still many lingering side effects of the 12-15 months of hell that many went through.

However we were basically optimistic that we were moving in the right direction which we were although there are still way too many who refuse the vaccine for a variety of personal reasons, some of which make little or no sense.  However it is a personal decision even if it might impact many others.

But there is a change in the air and it’s not a change for the better.  This new Delta variant is making up a majority of new positive cases and it’s more severe and spreads quickly and a significant threat to those who have not been vaccinated.  After months of declining infection rates we are now slowly heading in the opposite direction and it’s not a stretch to imagine that some restrictions could return in the near future and that includes the wearing of masks in some cases.

All of this is the last thing I want and I would hope most of you agree.  However we also have the power to take control of the situation and not leave it up to the government and health officials.  You be the judge!
