Another Foggy Morning In New Jersey
It’s another foggy morning in much of New Jersey with a thick covering of low clouds in many areas.
The National Weather Service issued a Dense Fog Advisory for most of central and southern counties due to visibility of a quarter mile or less. The fog was expected to burn off by 9AM.
Speeds were reduced on the New Jersey Turnpike between exits 1 and 2 and on the Walt Whitman, Ben Franklin & Betsy Ross Bridges between New Jersey and Philadelphia. The fogi is also causing flight delays at Newark Liberty and Philadelphia International Airports.
Meteoroligist Alan Kasper attributes the fog to a number of factors including our warm weather. The main reason is because of temperature inversions caused by warm air aloft and cooler air closer to the ground fed by moisture.
