A contractor wanted by Ocean County investigators for theft related charges is found at the Baymont Inn Friday around 3:30 pm in Galloway Township, arrested and brought back here to be jailed until a future court date.

Ocean County Prosecutors say 56-year old Peter Rinaldi of Little Egg Harbor took money from clients for proposed projects at private homes and either put it into his bank account or went on a personal spending spree between July of 2014 and August of 2016.

He operated under the company names of Donovan Mark Custom Builders, LLC and Mark Anthony Custom Builders, LLC, and in addition to depositing the money into his bank account he did so at a check cashing facility.

Rinaldi's theft amounted to about $247,224.63 he took from 12 victims.

Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Economic Crimes Unit worked with Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Detectives Robert Trainor and Adam Wright, assigned to the US Marshals Task Force on this case.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have contracted with Rinaldi for uncompleted work is asked to call Ocean County Prosecutor Economic Crimes Detective James Conroy at 732-814-1697.

The public is reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
