One of the Most Unique Day Trips Right Here In New Jersey
My wife, April, and I went on a truly unique day trip, and we didn't even leave the Garden State. If you are looking for a stunning afternoon road trip, then you need to visit Akshardham.
Mercer County is home to one of the most incredible landmarks I have visited here in New Jersey. The BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham North America Campus in Robbinsville, New Jersey.
If you are looking for something truly unique to see here in New Jersey, the Hindu Akshardham Campus in Robbinsville is one of those places that makes you stop and say, “Wow, this is right here in Jersey?” The massive campus combines stunning architecture, detailed stone carvings, peaceful gardens, and a quiet atmosphere that feels worlds away from everyday life.
Whether you visit for spiritual reasons, culture, or just to see something incredible, it’s one of those destinations that leaves an impression and shows just how diverse and amazing the Garden State really is.
According to their guidebook, "Akshardham is a Hindu mandir, a sacred place of worship where the mind becomes still and the soul experiences lasting peace."
Take a look through my photo gallery that I have put together to get an idea of what this unique site has for you to experience. Photos are cool to look through, but in my opinion, you need to see this campus in person to experience.

Admission and parking are FREE to Akshardham. Donations are greatly appreciated. They do have a beautiful store where items are for sale. They also have a restaurant, the Shayona Cafe, which serves delicious Indian foods from around the country in a cafeteria-style eatery.
