New Jersey, AI Has Picked Your Favorite Grocery Store in the Garden State
We all have our favorite places to shop here in New Jersey. Maybe you're a Costco person. Maybe you swear by Target. Maybe you know exactly which ShopRite has the shortest checkout line. But now there’s a new shopper in town and it doesn't even need a shopping cart!
AI is starting to influence where people shop, and a recent analysis found that when artificial intelligence was asked where to buy everyday items, Walmart kept coming up as a top recommendation.
But, when I asked my ChatGPT, it said, the best is ALDI. I'll take that. Their breads are delicious!
And here's the part that really caught my attention: New Jersey was one of the states included in the research, from marketwatch.com.
AI Says Walmart Is a Good Bet
Researchers asked several popular AI chatbots shopping questions involving things like groceries, household necessities and other everyday purchases. The results showed Walmart was frequently recommended, with Costco also getting plenty of attention.
Costco also scored well, particularly when the question involved buying in bulk or looking for quality.
Amazon, interestingly enough, didn't appear as often as you might expect.
Would You Let AI Pick Your Store?
This is where it gets interesting for us here in New Jersey.
Imagine typing into ChatGPT: “Where should I go for the cheapest groceries near me?” or “Where can I get the best deal on a new television?”
Instead of scrolling through page after page of search results, you're getting an answer from AI.
I'm curious, would you actually trust AI to tell you where to shop?
