Alex Frank and Andrew Lia combined on a one-hit shutout and eight Marlboro players drove in multiple runs as the Mustangs (4-6, 3-6) cruised past the Green Wave (0-10, 0-9).

Julian Umanzor (3-for-4, two doubles, three runs), Andrew Bellone (2-for-3, double), Michael Kansky (1-for-1, double, two walks, three runs), Shawn McNiff (1-for-1, home run) and Andrew Briskin (0-for-1, walk) each drove in three runs, while Nik Gomolka (1-for-1, walk, four runs), Julian Buchmann (1-for-1, double, two walks), and Paul Santos (1-for-3, double) each drove in two.

 

No. 4 Middletown South 11, Middletown North 9

Junior Ben Schild went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI and winning pitcher Evan Wood was 1-for-4 with two RBI as the Eagles (8-4, 7-2) slugged their way to a win over the rival Lions (4-5, 4-5).

Senior Ryan St. Clair also went 3-for-5 with two RBI and senior Brendan Roche was 1-for-1 with an RBI while coming in to record the save.

Senior Joe Stanzione (1-for-2) reached base five times in six trips and drove in a run, sophomore Brendan Sliva was 2-for-3 with an RBI and junior Will Christopher went 1-for-2 with a triple, two walks and a hit-by-pitch for Middletown South.

 

No. 5 CBA 12, No. 2 Howell 2 (6 Innings)

Six different CBA players hit a home run and the Colts homered in five of the six innings to back senior right-hander Colin Reilly, who pitched his team past the previously-unbeaten Rebels.

Junior Zaine Toneske opened the scoring with a two-run home run to left field in the top of the first and seniors Alexey Stout and Joe Figliolino hit solo home runs in the second and third, respectively, to extend the Colts lead to 4-0.

Junior Harrison Campi cracked an RBI double, followed by an RBI single by Figliolino in the top of the fourth to push the lead to 6-0.

Howell senior Dan Furlong broke up Reilly's shutout bid with an opposite-field, solo home run to left in the bottom of the fourth. Senior Nick Gallo later smacked a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth for Howell's second run.

Senior George Kruse lunched a two-run home run in the top of the fifth to put CBA up, 9-1, which came after an RBI double by senior Gavin Kus.

Junior Hunter Del Guercio and Kus hit back-to-back home runs in the top of the sixth to cap the scoring.

Senior Charlie Tallman led off the game with a home run and the Bulldogs rumbled to a win over the Falcons to remain unbeaten.

Senior Chris Theobald blasted a two-run home run to pull Monmouth within 5-3 of Rumson in the bottom of the fourth, but Rumson senior Brian Doherty answered with an RBI single in the top of the fifth and the Bulldogs tacked on two more runs in the top of the sixth on a misplayed fly ball to the outfield.

Jackson Memorial exploded for eight runs in the first inning, powered by four consecutive run-scoring doubles by senior Zach Crotchfelt, junior Mike Arent, junior Matt Koblos and senior Tommy Kendrick, on the way to a high-scoring win over the Indians one night after going 12 innings to pick up a win at Toms River South.

Junior left-hander Tyler Bell fired a six-inning no-hitter with three walks and five strikeouts and the Golden Eagles complete a sweep of the Raiders for their fourth straight win.

Senior Cam Leiter ended the game in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run home run, which followed his two-run double in the first and another RBI double in Central's five-run third.

Junior Chace Pierce hit an RBI double to extend the Central lead to 4-0 and senior Billy Sottilaire added a two-run double to make it 6-0. Sophomore Brayden Lowden rapped an RBI single to push the Central lead to 7-0 heading into the fourth.

Senior Anthony Musso also blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth.
