The suspect identified as a driver during last summer's rolling shootout on the Atlantic City Expressway heads for a detention hearing this Monday, facing four counts of attempted murder.

Devan Leggette, 21, of Pleasantville, also faces two weapons charges, according the Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner's office.

Gunfire erupted on August 29, 2016. A witness reported hearing shots and seeing smoke rising from a black Dodge Ram pickup, which was in a gun battle with a white Ford Expedition, authorities said.

The eyewitness followed the pickup off the Expressway at Exit 5, heading for Pleasantville. Authorities said that the witness identified Leggette in a photographic lineup.
