Jewels is in search of her forever, loving home!

It's a wonder how Jewels can smile every time the camera points in her direction with all this sweet girl has been through, yet she keeps on smiling, and keeps hoping for better days. Jewels is a 5 year old pittie/hound mix that came to us from another shelter in NJ when she was surrendered, along with her best friend, an old German shepherd. Their family had to give them up when they lost their home. Sadly, Jewels heartbreak wasn't over....her best canine companion passed away due to cancer shortly after they arrived. If anyone deserves a fresh start in life, it's this pretty girl. Jewels is a calm, well-behaved, loving girl that makes friends easily. While other dogs are barking it up, trying to get your attention, Jewels just hangs back, hoping you'll notice her. She is housebroken, good with other dogs and kids, and even playful and active too. She would love to start life over with a great family.
