Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports and infamous pizza reviewer can now say he’s been to the Jersey Shore.  After several visits this summer, the self-proclaimed "El Presidente" came to grade some of our best pizzerias.  In a recent pizza review video, he said,

“I'll admit, I've never been to the Jersey Shore. I'm one of those people when I think Jersey Shore, I think 'Jersey Shore' MTV, but Pt. Pleasant is fire. It reminded me a little bit of Nantucket when driving up.”

Among the many slices, Portnoy has reviewed this summer, Sea Bright Pizzeria in Sea Bright New Jersey was among the higher end of the scoring.  He gave them a respectable score of 7.6.  But not as high as the 8.5 score that went to Rosie's Pizza in Point Pleasent.

Just this past week, casino operator Penn National Gaming announced plans to open a Barstool Sports branded bar in the Philadelphia area. Penn National now owns 36% of Barstool Sports, after its $163 million acquisition last year.

The still “unknown” Philly location is one of many initiates in the digital media company’s plans.  A half dozen Barstool Sports retail sportsbooks will open by year's end.  The company also plans on launching a “Barstool-branded” live dealer sportsbook in New Jersey.

Rumors of the sports bar opening near Xfinity Live in the Philly stadium district.  No doubt a prime location that would increase potential traffic on game days.
