Pictures from inside a Toms River motel that town officials closed this month show ramshackle conditions including collapsed ceilings, broken walls, piles of debris and vermin where long-term residents lived.

It's only march and already there's been six pedestrian deaths resulting from 12 motor vehicle crashes in Monmouth County. That's disturbing since the average number of fatal pedestrian accidents over each the past three years has been 10. The prosecutor's office say something needs to be done.

It appears the state bailout of the Lakewood school budget continues. As the district confirms the state is sending them an extra five million of our tax dollars to balance their budget. Education officials are not commenting.
