To prepare for a possible second wave or a spike of Covid, Jersey health commissioner Judy Persichilli says plans are moving forward to create a long term care emergency operations center that will monitor testing of residents and staff, and make sure there's enough PPE.

In New Jersey there have been 177,645 positive cases of Covid-19, out of 1,840,929 total tests reported. The spot positivity rate is 2.48 percent. The state's rate of transmission is 0.90.

Ocean County has had 10,030 positive cases of covid-19, 34 reported on Wednesday.

Monmouth County has had 9,971 positive cases of covid-19, 41 reported on Wednesday.

Many beachgoers have been voicing complaints over wearing a mask on the beach citing their tan line would be in jeopardy. In Ocean County, Public Health Coordinator Dan Regenye encourages you to come to the beach and boardwalk and wear a mask unless social distancing requirements can be met.
