A blizzard warning is in effect for Ocean and Monmouth counties until 7 pm.

The 1-2 punch of snow and 40-mph winds may result in at least 6-10 inches of snow and will severely impair driving conditions.

Ocean County sheriff Mike Mastronardy says they're concerned about the remainder of the storm.

Today's snowstorm brings with it challenges for state road crews thanks to the how cold it's been over the last week and a half.

A spokesman with the dot says another problem is that rock salt isn't as effective in cold temperatures. He says to address the problem they spay the salt with liquid calcium before spreading it.
