Toms River Police have confirmed to WOBM News that they are investigating the discovery of a dead body found behind the Walmart on Route 37 on Wednesday.

A vigil is planned by the Lacey Raccoon Task Force at the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office on Friday to remember the raccoon caught in a steel trap and beaten with a baseball bat by teens which was captured on a video shared by them on social media.

Hackensack Meridian Health said its computer systems had “external technical issues” on Wednesday but did not elaborate except to say there was no threat to patient confidentiality.

A bill that would ban plastic bags and Styrofoam containers will be up for a hearing today.
